The Tough Mudder 2021 season was the one we all waited for. And after a year with no event weekends, no obstacles and no mud it’s no surprise that Mudder Nation took to the brown stuff like ducks to water once more. You rolled in it, jumped in it, slid on your bellies through it, chucked it at your mates, wiped it on your face and really just made every second out on course count. We salute you Mudders. So strap in, grab your headband and let’s countdown the top five muddiest moments of 2021.

The Muddiest Moments of 2021
1. North West, Naturally
You know it, we know it. Tough Mudder North West is the MUDDIEST event in the UK season (and possibly in the world to be quite honest). The mud is unbelievably thick and sticky and there seems to be an abundance of it in the ground of Cholmondeley Castle. And as per usual in 2021 Mud Mile was the site of pure carnage. Does it get better than this?
2. Get Your Goggles On
Mud Mile has been the place to be this season. This video is just a tiny snapshot of the muddy mayhem and good times that were unleashed at Tough Mudder Yorkshire where the end of the obstacle became a slip and slide.
3. Goodbye Shoes
When you think of Electroshock Therapy we’d bet money that you’re not thinking about mud (the electrified wires are kind of distracting). But as many Mudders discovered this year the churned up ground on which you run can be just as tricky to handle, especially if you want to leave with both shoes.
4. No Letting Go
At the last muddy weekend event of the season, Tough Mudder London South, the mud decided it didn’t want to say goodbye. We thoroughly enjoyed watching Mudders attempt to overcome this quicksand-esque bog. Some tried to jump it, others rolled and some just accepted it was their fate to be stuck in the mud forever.
5. The Big Day
Dressed to the nines these guys really put on a show, reminding us, and everyone else, why we love Pitfall so much. Please just don’t send us the dry-cleaning bill for that white suit…
