For those of us who don’t enjoy small spaces or water Augustus Gloop 2.0 can be a little intimidating. Luckily our Tough Mudder obstacle maestro’s are here with their three top tips for Augustus Gloop and how to shimmy up like a chocolate-loving pro.
HOW TO COMPLETE AUGUSTUS GLOOP 2.0
1. HOLD YOUR BREATH
Take a big deep breath as you submerge yourself in the drink to enter the tube. From then on you’ll be pelted with high-pressure jets of water as you try to ascend the slippery handholds, if you can move quickly we suggest holding your breath for as long as possible.
Spending a little longer in there? Try to keep calm and take slow and steady breaths.
2. DON’T LOOK UP
You might think it’s best to see where you’re going but we can tell you – it’s up. Looking up the tube will only result in your face being pummelled with water, which is likely to cause you to panic or simply become even more disorientated (more disorientated than finding yourself in a water-filled tube in a field somewhere in the UK).
3. KEEP A FIRM GRIP
To make your way successfully up Augustus Gloop 2.0 you’ll need to cling to those hand holds like they’re the last golden ticket. Try to concentrate on getting a secure hold on each one before you move up.
